Getting to PNG

Papua New Guinea’s National Carrier – Air Niugini – under a code-share arrangement with Qantas conducts international flights between Port Moresby and Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney. Air Niugini also offers international services to Singapore and Manilla. Special packages will be available to individuals competing in and/or attending the tournament.

Accommodation in Port Moresby

Port Moresby has a vast array of accommodation options.

The Port Moresby Holiday Inn is a Gold Sponsor of the event (and the location of the International Event) and is providing accommodation to any participants and their guests at the rate of K220 (AUD$85) per room.

Visas

Tourist visas are available at Jackson’s Airport on arrival in Port Moresby. Further details are available from the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority website - www.pngtourism.org.pg.

Health Advice

Papua New Guinea does have malarial mosquitoes. However the location of the tournament is Port Moresby which will be in the middle of its dry season during the tournament and the risk of coming in contact with malarial mosquitoes is considered very low. Visitors are advised to consult their own doctor as well as websites such as the Australian Government Travel Advice website (www.dfat.gov.au/geo/png/index.html) , which can provide additional advice.
